The Executive Reset

I need to switch off.

Seven nights for someone who has not had a real break in a while.

This week is written for the person who is tired in a way sleep does not fix. Who needs quiet and privacy, but not isolation. Who would like to stay reachable for the one thing that matters and unreachable for everything else.

It is built around recovery first: the tidal pool, the balcony, the mountain, food and wine, long empty afternoons. Each day also carries a "turn it up" option, for the morning when the energy comes back and you want to use it. Follow it, rearrange it, or ignore it entirely.

Day by day

Slow by default. Faster when you say so.

Day1

Arrive, unpack once

The week starts when you stop moving.

Get in, open the balcony doors, put the bags down and leave them. Walk the five minutes down to Glencairn Beach and the tidal pool to hear the sea before you see anything else. Dinner at home from the basics we can pre-stock for you, or a table in Simon\'s Town if you want to be looked after. An early night.

Turn it up: if the flight has you wired, a longer walk along the shore towards Fish Hoek, and back by the road.

', '
Day2

The slow one

Do nothing on purpose.

A swim in the tidal pool before breakfast on the balcony. A massage at the Residence in the late morning, then a late lunch and an afternoon that stays deliberately unplanned. The bookshelves exists for days like this. Phone in the other room.

Turn it up: a gentle reservoir walk at Silvermine in the afternoon, an hour and a half of fynbos and quiet.

', '
Day3

Into the mountain

Fresh air is the whole plan.

Drive twenty minutes up to Silvermine and take one of the easy trails around the reservoir, or a longer loop if the body says yes. Down to Kalk Bay for lunch by the harbour, then an hour wandering its bookshops and small stores. Home for the last of the light on the balcony.

Turn it up: the longer Silvermine ridge route, or a mountain bike from a rental in the valley.

', '
Day4

Harbour stories

A slow morning with a bit of history in it.

Coffee on Jubilee Square in Simon\'s Town, then the harbour and the naval museum for as long as it holds your interest. Lunch in town. In the afternoon, Boulders Beach: go for the penguins, stay for the granite coves and the sheltered water. Back for an early evening at home.

Turn it up: a guided kayak from Simon\'s Town along the coast to the penguins, two hours on the water.

', '
Day5

Among the vines

Lunch is the destination.

If a call cannot wait, take it at the fold-away desk before ten, then close the laptop. Drive over to Cape Point Vineyards in Noordhoek for a tasting, a long lunch and, if it is running, the market. Stay for the sunset over the Atlantic side. Nothing else on the list.

Turn it up: a beach ride at Noordhoek in the morning, then the vineyard as the reward.

', '
Day6

The great drive

Make the journey the day.

Noordhoek\'s wide beach for a morning walk, then Chapman\'s Peak slowly, stopping at the viewpoints, towards Hout Bay for lunch by the water. Come home along the coast the other way. Dinner at home with what you picked up in Kalk Bay.

Turn it up: Chapman\'s Peak by bicycle, a serious climb with a serious view.

', '
Day7

Your call

Repeat what worked.

By now you know what you needed. Most guests go back to the tidal pool, then choose one thing from the week to do again, properly. A last long dinner in Simon\'s Town or at home. The bags can wait until morning.

Turn it up: one thing you have not tried yet: surf lesson at Muizenberg, or a run along the coast road at first light.

Activities are ideas, not bookings. When you enquire we put you in touch with the local operators we trust. Some experiences depend on weather and season.
